Morocco’s FA, Morrocan Football Federation has announced it will bid to host the 2026 World Cup.
This follows CAF’s backing for the country to host the global showpiece in July this year.
If the bid is successful, it will be the second time Africa will be hosting the tourney after South Africa in 2010.
FIFA recently expanded the tournament to 48 teams, rather than the former 32.
Africa is one of the federations allowed to host the event based on a rotational policy that rules out former hosts based on continent.
Whoever will host the 2026 World Cup will be revealed in 2020.
