Gift Ali has revealed why he joined Police FC despite reported interest from giants Vipers and URA.

The midfielder was unveiled on Friday by the Cops after agreeing a two-year deal from Proline FC.

Speaking after penning the deal, the former Arua Garage midfield gem said he delighted to join the club but was mainly attracted by urge to work with Abdallah Mubiru again.

“I am happy to join Police,” a smiling Ali said. “I have here for a new challenge and am ready for it,” he added before bringing Mubiru into the equation.

We worked together at Proline and the good thing he believes in me and so do I. The fact that we believe in each other, we shall take the club forward.

His representative, Peter Tabu also hinted at the presence of Mubiru at Police as a big factor but couldn’t hide the fact that he wants his player to be part of the project.

Police is a club with big ambitions and most of all; Coach Abdallah Mubiru worked with Ali before. So it’s a win win for both and it’s for the better.

Club Chairman Asan Kasingye, who witnessed the club lift the league in 2005 and then went on to win the CECAFA Kagame Cup the following year described the signing as a big addition.

Ali is a great addition and I think we are now ready to win the league. All teams are warned.

The signing of the midfielder brings the total number of new faces at the club to nine.
