As close to 200 golfers tee off during the August monthly mug at the Uganda Golf Club in Kampala, all eyes will be geared towards the coveted prize.

Last month, Ernest Rukundo finally lived to the billing with a podium finish following a couple of near misses.

Yet this Saturday, each golfer will be in contention to dethrone him when the tournament makes a return for the August edition at the Uganda Golf Club.

This month’s edition, which will tee off on Saturday, August 26, is dubbed the ‘Black Label Round’.

The mode of play will be medal on individual merit format.

“We are definitely excited about this second round, and from the name you can tell we will be celebrating Johnnie Walker Black Label. The July round was immensely successful, and I want to wish all the golfers the best of luck,” UBL’s Annette Nakiyaga.

Three winners are set to be awarded from each group in the men’s and ladies’ categories, with guest players this time also receiving prizes, and these will go to the winner, first and second runners-up.

Monthly mugs keep the momentum of golfers alive at the end of every calendar month as they keep practicing to harness further their golfing skills, network and keep fit as well.

Golfers are also perfecting their swing, approach and putting skills ahead of the prestigious 75th Uganda Golf open on the same course.

The ladies tee off on 7th September 2017 (54 holes), followed by the amateurs (13th September), Pro Arm and the professionals.
