More mini qualifiers of the 2017 National Pool Open Championship take center center on Friday and Saturday at the various venues.

2014 losing finalist Ivan ‘Kasiiru’ Kanyesigye, a deaf player will be the main focus at Capital Pub in Kabalagala.

Having dropped from the top seeds, Kanyesigye will be engaged in the mini qualifiers like the rest of the pool players across the country.

An offensive and intelligent player on the Pool table, Kanyesigye has a huge following for his unquestionable talent and sympathy for the disability of hearing impairment.

Veteran player David ‘Musota’ Owori is yet another familiar face expected at the competitive Capital pub venue.

Ibanda, 2011 finalist Moses Arinaitwe remains the best performing upcountry-based player at the grand finale following his defeat by Ntwali Khalifan in the final of 2011.

It’s not yet established if he’ll take another shot at this year’s crown.

In Kitgum, Jimmy Okello, who fell at the last eight stage at the 2014 grand finale having lost to the eventual champion Fahad Sewankambo, could be in contention while Emmanuel Chol, a multiple grand final qualifier, could be among the star to watch in Arua.

The mini qualifiers started last weekend and will go on until mid September.

Sula Matovu is the defending champion of the event whose grand finale will come in October.
