Having gone four circuits without playing each other, rugby giants Kobs and Heathens will finally face off in this year’s national sevens circuit.
The two sides have not crossed paths this season and will serve revelers with their first duel this weekend when they face off in pool B of the Makerere Sevens.
The two have been drawn together in pool B alongside Jinja Hippos and Mbarara.
Kobs had to dig deep to overcome the Hippos last weekend in Gulu and will have another task of dealing with the Jinja outfit.
Mbarara, a guest team at the event, is expected to be on the rough end of results in the pool. New Table leaders Toyota Buffaloes are drawn in pool A with Pirates, Mongers and Kyambogo.
Pirates is currently ranked fourth in the title run with two circuits left on the calendar. Warriors, who were eliminated at the semifinal stage after a coin toss, will have another chance to make some points clear.
The Gabriel Aredo led Warriors defeated Heathens in the group stages last weekend and played out a scoreless draw with second placed Heathens in the semis.
Placed in pool C alongside Rhinos, Rams and hosts Makerere Impis, Warriors will be one of the favourites to make it through the pool.
In the ladies category, leaders Thunderbirds, Mbale Eagles and Entebbe ladies will all be vying for top honours at the event.
Buffalloes top the men’s log with 79 points after four legs while Heathens and Kobs are second and third with 75 and 72 points respectively.
