Express lineup against Kirinya-Jinja SS

Uganda Premier League debutants Mbarara City plays their first home game of the season against giants Express at the Kakyeka Stadium on Saturday.

On their first outing away from home against Jinja side BUL F.C, Mbarara City traveled minus the services of their head coach Richard Makumbi, who has since signed for Kenya Premier League (KPL) outfit Western Stima.

The game against BUL ended in a goal-less stalemate with assistant coach Vialli Bianomugisha taking over the head coach role.

There were plenty of lessons that the Mbarara side learnt from the first match away in the top flight since attaining promotion from the second tier division the FUFA Big League.

Such learning points will be crucial when the league new comers take on Express F.C at the Kakyeka stadium.

Key on the agenda will be how to score, more so against a good organized multi-national defence line of Express with goalie Godwin Buule, Rwanda international Omar Hitimana, Congolese left back Promise Mokpene, right back Ronnie Kiseke and South Sudanese nationalized player Bernard Agele.

Strikers Makweth Wol and Siraje Musindo will be tasked to work a little harder.

The Red Eagles, too, like Mbarara City were held at home in the opening day fixture by visiting Kirinya-Jinja S.S. A man of the match impressive performance from goalkeeper Buule saved the day for Express.

Still with interim coaches Hassan Mubiru, Edward Kalungi and Samuel Kawalya, Express will officially usher in Deogratius Bamwenyana.

Left footed winger Sulaiman Jjingo who missed the home game against Kirinya-Jinja S.S may make the 18 man team.

Steven Bengo, Daniel Sserunkuma, Mike Birungi, Juma Ssebaduka and Abdulkarim Kasule will be the main weapons for Express offensively.

Both Mbarara City and Express eye their first goal and maximum points of the season.
