Management at Express Football Club has appointed Douglas Bamwenyana as the new head coach on a one-year tenure.
Bamwenyana, a sports science lecturer at Makerere University is a CAF ‘A’ certified coach and heads the Physical Education Association of Uganda.
He thus thus marks his second return to the Wankulukuku based outfit after previously working with Alex Gitta and Wasswa Bbosa last season.
Bamwenyana replaces the interim tacticians Samuel Kawalya, Hassan Mubiru and Edward Kalungi who had taken over after the shocking resignation of Mathias Lule over alleged payment of dues accruing to Shs 8M over 4 months.
It remains to be seen however whether all the three interim coaches will be retained at the club.
During the first game of the season for Express at Wankulukuku against Kirinya-Jinja on Tuesday, the three club legends handled the side but only Kawalya and Mubiru sat on the technical bench.
The Red Eagles travel to Mbarara for an away duel against Mbarara City this Saturday.
