With the clock ticking until the Africa Cup of Nations, Rwanda men’s volleyball team coach Paul Bitok is working around the clock to have his side in shape.
The Kenyan tactician has has added five new faces to his provisional 22-player squad as preparations intensify in Kigali, the Rwandan capital.
The five new faces are; Valens Ndiyonze (IPRC-South), William Mudahemuka (Gisagara VC), Thierry Mugabo (Gisagara VC), Fred Muvunyi (Kirehe VC) and Felix Niyomugabo (IPRC-South).
The Africa cup is set to run from October 20-28 in Egypt. The continental event will also serve as a qualifier for next year’s FIVB World Championships.
The team started training on Wednesday with a non-residential camp at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.
Rwanda reached the final qualification round for 2018 FIVB Men’s World Championships after finishing second at the FIVB-Africa Zone V tournament in July.
Kenya is the other East African country that will participate at the event having won the Zone V championship.
