Defending Champions Tornado B had a false start in their defence of the 50 over league and they will be looking at making amends this weekend against KICC at the lakeside oval in Entebbe.

KICC is in buoyant mood after they defeated Wanderers at the same ground last week and they will be hoping that their Kenyan contingent can make it for the game.

Tornado B are still without captain Naomi Kayondo who is away for study leave in the UK but they hope Saidat Kemigisha and Mary Nalule who were part of the winning team in Namibia can step up and help them win.

Olila High travels to Jinja to take on previous winners Jinja SS. Olila defeated Pioneer by 9 wickets in their 1st game while Jinja SS on the other hand will be playing their 1st game in the 50 over league and given they are at home they come into the fixture as favorites.

Olila – winners of the T20 crown this year – have African MVP Gertrude Chandiru plus national team players Rachel Ntono and Joyce Mary Apio in their ranks and will be hoping to pick up points on the road.

Home side Jinja SS coached by Habib Mugalula will be looking at national team stars Stephanie Nampiina and Rita Musamali as their go to players.

Olila High Team Manager Felix Musana is aware of the threat posed by Jinja SS but he is confident they can pick up a win.

It’s an impressive side and it’s more than a club match since we are rivals in the schools competition.

We will look to exploit their weaknesses in playing slow bowlers especially our spinners, and then target their in experienced players outside Kevin, Musamali and Stephanie.

Their home has become like our home due to the number of games we played there in Division 2, our players love the place and given Damalie and Racheal studied there I doubt it will count.

The Div 1 50 over league is a promotion and relegation affair with teams competing in a round robin with the top side declared champions at the end and the bottom team dropping down to Div 2.

In Buddo the Aziz Damani powered Masaka SS will be taking on Charity. Charity has struggled to mount any credible challenge this season and barring weather Masaka SS should win easily.

Yusuf Nanga and his girls are already planning for life in Division 1 as they are comfortably on top of the table with no credible challengers.
