The national women beach soccer league continued on Sunday with 6 matches at Lido Beach in Entebbe.

A total of 23 goals were netted on the day.

The usual suspects; Ajax Queens, Buganda Royal University  and Muteesa 1 Royal University maintained the dominance with splendid performances.

Buganda Royal University’s 5-2 victory past Entebbe Ladies was the most high scoring game on the day.

Jovia Masiko (2), Mariam Nakawangi, Jackline Ogoa and Dorah Nakimuli were all on mark for Buganda Royal University.

Entebbe Ladies managed their two goals through Lillian Namubiru and an own goal from Nakimuli.

Some goalkeepers were at their best during match day 5 of the women beach soccer league

Buganda Royal University also defeated Katuuso community 5-1 in yet another flattering scoreline.

Precious Najjemba grabbed a hat-trick as Dorah Nakimuli got a brace.

Katuuso Community’s consolation was scored by Harriet Namatovu.

Another Namatovu entity in Sharon was on target for Muteesa 1 Royal University in their 2-1 win against Alphoenix Golden Girls team.

Habibah Nakayobyo got the other Muteesa’s goal. Meanwhile, Spencer Nakacwa score Rogers Nkugwa’s Alphoenix.

Moureen Afoyo, Lukia Namubiru (2) and Bridget Nabisali scored Ajax Queens’ 4 goals past Nkumba University.

The University side coached by Emmanuel Amagu were lucky for the consolation, an own goal from Nabisaalu.

Nkumba returned in style to win 2-0 against Buganda Royal University with Lillian Mutuuzo’s double.

The Ajax Queens against Muteesa 1 Royal University encounter failed to produce any goal dividend.

Deo Mutabazi, the chairman of Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) salutes the efforts of the players and team officials for the growth of beach soccer among young girls.

It is a good trend to see beach soccer grow among the ladies. I thank the players, the team officials, fans, media and other key stake holders for this progression
