Kutchi Tigers win on the road to keep quarterfinal dream alive

Kutchi Tigers survived the Jinja trip returning with 2 wins after defeating both home sides despite missing 5 1st team players.

Kutchi defeated JACC by 61 runs despite the young boys being resilient in scoring 100+ runs in pursuit of Kutchi’s 169.

Ankit Patel (44) anchored the innings for the Tigers and he was supported by Ramesh Gami (3/6) with the ball.

Jinja SS which is supposed to be tough one of the Jinja teams wasn’t competition for the visitors as they folded for only 52 with Nandi Kishore (3/11) and Kalpesh Kerai (3/10) ripping through that batting line.

Captain Alpesh Hirani gave us a review of their Jinja trip;

“Though 5 of our senior players were not available due to work and other commitments namely Jitesh Gorasia, Ankesh Vekaria, Meghji Kara, Hitesh Halai, Shailesh Halai who were replaced by me (Alpesh), Nandi Kishore, Ramesh Gami, Kalpesh Kerai and Ravi Vekariy, we still managed to travel in the rain and reach Jinja on time but Jinja SS not available on time as usual.

“Outstanding bowling performance was done by Kalpesh Kerai and Nandi Kishore our captain who each picked 3 wickets in the 1st game. Restricting Jinja SS to 50 all out in 12 overs  and Nanji Phindoria and Ankit Patel batted very well and finished the game in 4.1 overs but the balls were very fake in the Jinja SS game. But in 2nd innings they were regular league balls in the 2nd game against JACC.”

In our 2nd game against JACC, we batted 1st and Ankit Patel scored 44 n Bharat Ghodadira scored 37 and we scored 169/4 in 20 overs. JACC managed to reach 108/8 in 20 overs Ramesh Gami picking 3/6 in 2 overs.

Kutchi will take some confidence from the trip as the T20 league group stage nears the end. They are favorites to make the knock out phases alongside Charity and KICC.
