East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Secretary General, Nicholas Musonye communicated a change of dates for the regional tournament .
The tournament was originally slated to kick off on 25th November to 3rd December but will now kick off on 9th December in Kenya.
The final will be played on 17th December, 2017.
Ten countries have already confirmed to take part in the 2017 edition of the CECAFA Senior Challenge cup.
Hosts Kenya will be joined by record winners and holders Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Burundi, South Sudan, Zanzibar as well as two guest countries – Libya and Zimbabwe.
Musonye also confirmed that the body’s General Assembly will now take place on December 2nd 2017 in Nairobi, a day to the kick off of the Africa’s oldest regional tournament.
At the same time, FUFA has notified the Uganda Premier League Secretariat and Competitions Department of the new dates.
The league secretariat will therefore communicate a fresh amendment in the fixtures.
