Former Champions have no room to error when they host stubborn Kirinya Jinja SS at St. Mary’s Kitende on Friday.

The Venoms have been disappointing in the past month or so winning just once in seven league games.

They come into the game against the Jinja based side on the back of a painful 3-1 loss to rivals KCCA that saw them slip to 6th on the log with 17 points and six adrift of log leaders Police.

Taddeo Lwanga, one of the few players at the club that is having stellar performances on an individual basis admits they are in a position they don’t want to be but says they are strong mentally to bounce back.

“We have a great spirit and my teammates are mentally strong enough,” he told the club’s official website. “We have to help each other, trust each other and get out the positive vibes again against Kirinya,” he added.

The same was almost echoed by midfield partner Moses Waiswa who believes the disappointment on Tuesday is now behind them.

We are all very disappointed to have lost Tuesday’s game but we have a chance now to change that starting tomorrow.”

In Kirinya, they face a side that is capable of piling more misery on Miguel Da Costa and his charges.

Charles Ayiekoh’s charges have picked away wins against Masavu, UPDF and will fancy their chances against a currently limping Vipers side.

Milton Karisa alongside Mousa Clovis Mbayi will be the key man to breakdown the resilient Jinja backline that has conceded only seven goals, one less than Vipers.

The visitors will miss the services of Musa Esenu and Ibrahim Kayiwa who are on loan from the Kitende side but will hope Fred Amaku, who scored the winner for Paidha Black Angels against Vipers in the Uganda Cup repeats his heroics.
