The Expendables!!!
Who gave them a chance of winning the overall title at the exciting, captivating and educative sports quiz league?
The answer is scripted in bold, FEW. Not ever themselves.
At the end of the fourth outing, Ian Mutenda, Deus Bugembe, George Ssenkatuka, Uwizera Douglas and Musisi Kiwanuka smiled to the podium as the overall winners at Route 256 bar and restaurant in Lugogo, Kampala.
But, owing to the team composition, the doubting Thomases ‘ate’ their accusations.
Led by the captain Mutenda (a fotball coach), Bugembe, a sports journalist working with Daily Monitor, Senkatuka (IT Specialist), Uwizera (Human Resource Manager) and Kiwanuka (Sports blogger/banker), who again doubted this balance and quality combined together.
The quartet amassed a total of 110 points, to wrap up the season with 410 overall points to own the bragging rights, take home a trophy, a reward that also came forth with a Shs 1M cash prize.
Betway Agosto ended with 392.5 points to take second place.
What better way deserved the quiz crowning than having around magnetic sports personalities as judges during the final round?
Celebrated kick boxer Moses “Of Uganda” Golola ‘escaped’ from the residential camping to grace the awards as a judge.
Others were female Flavia ‘Flirsh’ Oketcho and Rugby ace Brian Odong.
Leon Ssenyange has been the brain engineering this quiz, basically intended to break the tough journalistic chains and routine for many sports reporters and editors to relax and learn a lot more under the theme “Test Your Sports Knowledge“.
