For starters, Ochan also won the award last year. This season, his splendid performances for KCCA witnessed him guide the club to the 12th premier league crown (now four shy of record winners, Sports Club Villa Jogoo), the Uganda Cup (formerly Kakungulu Cup) and was outstanding on the continent in the CAF Champions and Confederation Cup tournaments.

The third candidate for the gong is Masavu Football Club, a team that had an incredible season right from the FUFA Big League where they became the first club to get promoted from the second division to top flight with 4 matches left on the clock.

According to the chief brain behind these awards, Charles ‘Engineer’ Kamya, the Entebbe Red Carpet Performance Awards are meant to provide that plat form to appreciate what the people in the community of Entebbe and surrounding area have done all year long.

These awards are basically to appreciate the effort of the respective people in the community. The sports catergory is one of those areas where we feel outstanding personalities ought to be recognized.

We have other sectors as business, education, tourism, fashion house and entertainment (musicians and Dj’s). We feel sports also has a tremendous impact to the society in general.

May the best person or team win on the awards night come 17th December 2017”.

Wood ball teenager Mark Kayongo and goalkeeper Ochan won the sports award in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

A high profile list of guests has been already confirmed by the organizers at the event where wining, dinning and merry making is the order of the day.
