CHAN 2018: Uganda Cranes delegation settles in Marrakech City

After close to a week in Rabat city, the Uganda Cranes contingent safely traveled from Rabat to Marrakech on Thursday afternoon.

The delegation endured 325 KM by road covered in over three hours.

The team had a successful training camp meant for acclimization where two practice matches were played in Rabat, drawing one all with Guinea and falling 1-0 to Congo.

They are booked at the lavish Palmeraie Golf palace Hotel in Marrakech City.

The team officer, Ahmed Hussein, as quoted by the FUFA website assured that all is well in the team camp.

We traveled very safely and everybody here is fine. We are ready for the mission ahead of us and make millions of Ugandans happy

Meanwhile, the two players who were asked to return home, KCCA left back Mustapha Kiiza and Vipers midfielder Tom Masiko have since arrived home.

The duo, who had left the country with the rest of the Uganda delegation for Morocco last Wednesday.

Uganda is in group B alongside Cote D’Ivoire, Zambia and Namibia.

The opening match will be played against Zambia on Sunday night.

CHAN is a tournament exclusively reserved for locally based players plying their trade in the domestic leagues on the African continent.

Uganda shall be playing in their fourth consecutive tourney.
