For the second time in the same tournament, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) football club will face Tanzanian side, Azam at the 2018 Mapinduzi cup at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar.

The two sides first locked horns during a group A clash that the Ugandans won 1-0, courtesy of Nicholas Kagaba’s strike in the 32nd minute.

Saturday’s final will therefore present a moment of revenge for the Tanzanians or another victory for Paul ‘Latest’ Nkata’s coached side.

For starters, URA finished top of group A with 10 points after the opening one all draw against Jamhuri.

New signing Moses Sseruyidde scored a last gasp equalizer for the Ugandan tax collectors’ outfit to earn a point from the game.

Then, URA edged Mwenge 1-0 during in another group A game where Congolese turned Rwandese striker Bokota Labama Kamana scored the winner in the 28th minute.

The final group game witnessed yet another 1-0 victory over Murushid Jjuuko’s Simba to book a semi final berth.

In the semi finals, URA smiled to a 5-4 post penalty victory against Yanga after normal time had settled for a barren stalemate.

Goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi was the hero with a superb save as Patrick Mbowa, Enock Kibumba, Shafik Kagimu, Jimmy Kulaba and Brian Majwega all converted their kicks from a penalty spot.

Tshishimbi, Kessy, Raphael Daudi and Michael Gadiel scored for Yanga.

Azam defeated fellow Tanzanian side Singida United 1-0 to book a spot in the final.

Shaban Iddi raced onto a hurriedly throw in ball before booting the ball past goalkeeper with 12 minutes left on the clock as Aristica Cioaba’s charges celebrated wildly.

Key Battles in the final:

Against Azam in the final, the match is highly billed as it will be a weighing plat form for the two respective tacticians Nkata and Aristica Cioaba (Azam).

Cioaba will be facing URA for the third time in less than five months following a 2-0 win in Kampala in October 2017.

Zimbabwean international Bruce Kangwa, Himid Mao, Aggret Morris, Yakubu Muhammed and goalkeeper Razack Abalora will be the defensive shield.

URA on the other hand will be expected to maintain Alionzi Nafian in between the goal posts, Enock Kibumba and Brian Majwega at right back and left back roles respectively with team skipper Allan Munaaba and Paul Patrick Mbowa the two center backs.

Depending on the tide of the game, any of Mathias Muwanga (G.K), Hudu Mulikyi, Steven Mpoza, Jimmy Kulaba, Denis Kamanzi, Peter Lwasa, Moses Sseruyide could be introduced to create an instant impact.
