- Kenya Under-19s vs. South Africa Under-19s
In the early morning of Sunday, Kenyan youngsters will be hoping for favour as they take on 2014 winners South Africa in their opening game of the U19 Cricket World Cup taking place in New Zealand.
Kenya will be making their first appearance at the junior world cup since 2000 and in a difficult Group A, they will be hoping to compete and not just make up the numbers.
The East Africans are in the same group as defending champions West indies, hosts New Zealand and former winners South Africa.
South Africa had a horror show in the last edition held in Bangladesh when they failed to qualify for the Super 8 dropping down to the plate event. Thando Ntini son of South African legend Makhaya Ntini will be one of the bowlers the Kenyans have to watch out for.
The Kenyan youngsters will be looking to Captain Aveet Desai for inspiration as they look to make the whole of East Africa proud.
Kenya defeated Uganda in the final group to edge ahead of Uganda by net run rate in the qualifiers held in 2017.
Zimbabwe and Namibia are the other African representatives in a competition that has led to the rise of future superstars like current Indian Captain Virat Kohli, his New Zealand counterpart Kane Williamson and the universal boss Chris Gayle.
