Challengers had an under par 50 over league season but they have shown their quality in the T20, winning games with both grit and class.

They kept their nerve in the defense of 130 against Strikers and showed class in scoring 185 against Premier.

Hamu Kayondo and Arthur Kyobe have provided a solid base for the middle order to launch an assault with Kayondo being the aggressor of the two openers.

T20 captain Ivan Thawithemwira is weary of the threat his former team posses and is very cautious with his choice of words

In knock out phases, it can be anybody’s game. We have to tread very carefully. ACC has done so well to get where they are. So they deserve all the respect.
Asked if the current transfer window isn’t a distraction for his team as they look to defend their T20 crown, Thawithemwira said;
I hope not. I haven’t yet heard of player movements as far as the Challengers is concerned but I hope we will be good enough to do the work at hand with no distractions.
Thawithemwira is still spoilt for choice with all his players in great shape because they have been training with the national team, the likes of Arthur Kyobe, Hamu Kayondo, Shahzad Kamal and Irfan Afridi.
Their opponents ACC will be looking to test their new team as they prepare for the new season. They will be looking at big hitters Robert Okoth, Yusuf Nanga and Daniel Batuwa for inspiration.
