Libya strolled to a convincing 3-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea in a Group C encounter at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Tangier on Monday.

Saleh Taher  scored a brace in the first stanza of the game as the tournament debutants Equatorial Guinea, received a rude awakening.

Taher met Mohamed Aleyat’s cross for the opening goal on 11 minutes. A few minutes later, the same deadly duo combined to finish off goalkeeper Miguel Eyama as the first half eclipsed at 2-0.

Second half substitute Zakaria Alharash scored a late third goal for the 2014 CHAN champions as the Mediterranean Knights smiled to an emphatic victory.

Abdulrahman Khalifa found Aleyat, who dribbled his marker and shot through the legs of Eyama to Alharash to tap home and seal victory in the 87th minute.

Libya shot top of Group C as Nigeria was held by Rwanda to a goal-less draw in the second match at the same venue.
