Nemostars will represent Uganda at the 2018 African Volleyball Club Championship in Cairo Egypt but for now they are in a familiar place.
The national league champions are in need of $29,080 (nearly Shs106m) to make the 37th edition of the continental premier club competition that will run from March 27 to April 5 in Cairo, Egypt.
And club manager Safinah Naggayi says Nemo need public, government and various stakeholders support to meet the hefty budget for an 18 man contingent (12 players and 6 officials) to make the trip.
“We have been ably representing the country on four occasions at this stage and we believe sport is one avenue through which we market our country.
“It is that note that I call upon the various stakeholders to come to our rescue,” she said during a presser at City Royal Hotel on Tuesday.
Uganda Volleyball Federation president Hadijah Namanda echoed Naggayi’s appeal;
“Nemo have always managed to participate and improve their ranking. Therefore everyone who loves volleyball must chip in to help them travel.”
The club will have more preps in Bungoma and they are expected to travel to Western Kenya over the weekend.
