The name Henry Kisekka is associated with goals in every football club he has played for.
The 31 year old Ugandan assisted the opener before he found the back of the net with his new Indian club, Gokulam Kerala on Monday, 11th February 2018.
The lanky center forward scored a stunning to seal Gokulam Kerala’s 2- win over Mohun Bagan in the Indian I-league at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
Bahrain import Mahmood Al Ajmi broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 76th minute from Kisekka’s assist.
The new recruits combined well as Kisekka chested a long ball, took a touch and squared the ball for his partner.
The lead was short lived as Gokulam Kerela quickly found the equalizer through top marksman, Aser Dipanda, a Cameroonian born player.
Bimal Magar was instrumental in assisting the equalizer following a long ball from Shilton D’Silva sent a long ball inside the box.
Kisekka had other ideas altogether when he scored the winning goal for Gokulam at the stroke of full time – thanks to a decent assist from another Ugandan, Musa Mudde.
Provat Lakra orchestrated the move with a throw-in which Musa received.
The stocky midfielder delivered a through ball for Kisekka whose brilliant touch inside the box gave him time and space for a sensational volley into the net.
The stunning winner crushed Bagan’s hopes of a title challenge and helped Gokulam Kerala off the bottom of the standings.
For starters, Kisekka joined Gokulam Kerala from Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) F.C in the secondary transfer window in January 2018.
