Mbarara City will lock horns with Soana in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday evening at the Kakyeeka stadium.

From the immediate past games for the two sides, Mbarara City held Police at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole last Saturday as Soana succumbed to a late Daniel Sserunkuma strike at their Kavumba Recreational home.

The Ankole Lions have had an impressive home record in the league, only losing once to Vipers.

Against Soana, head coach Ibrahim Kirya alongside his assistant, Samuel Kawalya have a wide pool of players to pick from for the game.

A dice throw between goalies Ali Kimera, Muhammed Ssekeba or Emmanuel Opio could decide who starts in the goal posts although Kimera has an edge.

The club is blessed with an experienced defender in Asuman Alishe who will organize the rest of the youngsters, Steven Otieno, Zaidi Byekwaso, Hillary Mukundane and Jasper Ahebwa.

Owen Kasule, Abdul Karim Kasule, Clinton Kamugisha, Pistis Barenge, Method Bassey and Sam Kansiime lead the cast of midfielders who will feed the forwards Siraje Musindo, Brian Ahebwa, Fred Kalanzi, Eddie Mubiru and others.

Enter Alex Isabirye’s Soana, he returns to Mbarara town where he has been head coach at Big league side Nyamityobora.

Mbarara City is currently 10th with 20 points, same as Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club.

Soana closely follows with 19 points off 16 games. Bright Stars also shares the same number of points, although they have played a game less.

During the first leg at Kavumba Recreational stadium, the two clubs played to a goal-less draw.

FIFA Refere Brian Miiro Nsubuga shall handle the game.
