Reigning champions in the Women Pool League, CKI Pharmaceuticals have acquired the services of the Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) top seed Ritah Nimusiima.
The left handed gem joins the drug makers and sellers’ club on a two-year deal from Skin Samona for an undisclosed sign-on fee.
On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, Namusiima was officially unveiled at CKI’s new home found along Namirembe road (D-Bar), formerly called Luma Pool Arena.
Nimusiima was unveiled along with youngster Rashidah Mutesi, a former player at Sinkers Pool Club.
I am happy to join the winner’s club. I will still work hard to uphold the club’s status quo with the experience I have attained in the game over the years.
She joins a star studded side that has PAU side one player Vicky Namuyanja, seed three Angella Busingye, Rukia Naiga, Lydia Ayebazibwe and the team skipper Fauzia Namuganza.
CKI head coach Bob Menani, a veteran retired former national champion welcomed the two new players on the bandwagon.
“Ritah (Namusiima) brings the necessary experience and skills to the club. Rasidha is young and represents the future of the club. Pool is 70 percent skill, 20 percent luck and 10 percent mood,” Menani noted.
Team manager Robert Lubega vowed to maintain the winning form of the club with more emphasis this season laid to the men side.
CKI founder and main funder Bobby Tamale called upon sponsors to support the club.
The men club has stars as Sula Matovu, Mansor Bwanika, Hazard Lukomwa, Abdul Ssekitto, Jerom Nabasa and Musa Ssekiliba.
The new pool season starts in mid May 2018.
