Man of Match – Davis Karashani 45(25), 4/11 in 6.5 overs
KICC needed a hero after failing to win their first two games and former Cricket Cranes Captain Davis Karashani stepped up on Sunday.
KICC had failed to score more than 150 runs in their first 2 games and were already off the pace with the table leaders, any misfortune against Premier would mean they will be battling for relegation rather than chase for the title.
Their opponents Premier who have just been promoted from Division 2 as champions are still trying to find their footing in the top flight but it has not been very easy. They were properly beaten in their first game against former champions Tornado Bee.
However, KICC also put them to the sword after winning the toss and electing to bat first. KICC posted 286 all out in their 50 overs with Wassim Butt (74) and Davis Karashani (45) carrying their side.
Davis Karashani returned with the ball to claim 4 scalps finishing with match figures of 4/11 and he was ably supported by his spin bowling partners Frank Nsubuga (3/26) and Irfan Afridi (3/47) to dismiss Premier for 146.
KICC can now breathe easy as their expensively assembled side got their footing after defeats to Challengers and Strikers.
Premier on the other hand cant be so hard on themselves having lost games to teams that are more experienced than them.
