Over 200 golfers confirmed for 2018 CBA Captain’s Bell Tourney

CBA Acting ED, Joseph Mahugu opens the door of the car that will be competed for the hole in one challenge

The 2018 CBA Captain’s golf Bell tourney has been officially launched on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Uganda Golf Club, Kitante in Kampala.

At least 200 golfers are expected to take part in the three day’s championship boosted with a financial package worth 70M from financial bigwigs, Commerical Bank of Africa (CBA) as the main sponsor.

There is another enticing offer, a $ 62,000 Kia Sorento for that lucky golfer with a hole in one shot on hole 9 throughout the duration of the championship.

Addressing journalists at the Uganda Golf Club on Tuesday morning, the Acting Executive Director of CBA, Joseph Mahugu, confirmed that the financial institution has pumped over 70M for this year’s championship and they are ready to sponsor this tournament for the rest of the years to come;

Mahugu, who was Flanked by the company’s business retail retail manager,Peter Kabba noted;

We have sponsored with Shs. 70M for prizes, professionals’ kitty (Shs 10M) and other logistics. We are committed to further supporting golf development in Uganda

Hole in one prize:

Golfers are eager to drive home should they perfect the hole in one on hole 9, courtesy of Motor Center (Kia Motors), as confirmed by the Acting General Manager, Aitham Sultan;

There a brand new car, Kia Model Sorento for that lucky golfer who will be able to play a hole in hole during the course of the championship.

Uganda Professional Golfers Association (UPGA) president Deo Akope expressed gratitude as he recieved the dummy cheque for the Shs. 10M that is the total kitty that the paid players will play for.

The event tees off on Wednesday, 18th April 2018 with the Pro Am before the professionals will swing off on Thursday for day one action.

Those who will make the cut will progress for day two on Friday.

The main event shall come on Saturday, 21st April 2018 where a large entry of golfers, have already confirmed entry.

There will be different prizes for the overall men and ladies, top three group performers for either gender, guest winners as well as the side bets (nearest to the pin and longest drives contests).
