2018 CECAFA U-17 Championship
- Uganda U-17 3-0 Sudan U-17
Uganda National U-17 national team (The Cubs) recorded their first victory at the on-going 2018 CECAFA U-17 championship in Gitega, Burundi.
A 3-0 comprehensive victory over Sudan was good enough for coaches Peter Onen and Hamza Lutalo’s guided side.
Andrew Kawooya, a player with Proline Junior Team in the FUFA Juniors league led the assault.
Vipers Sports Academy forward Moses Bakabulindi, scorer of that last gasp minute goal against Tanzania on Sunday added the other.
Bakabulindi thus took his personal tally to two goals in two matches.
The technical team only called for one change from the side that started against Tanzania during the one all draw.
Forward Idd Abdulwahid replaced the stylish Ivan Asaba on the Uganda Cubs starting team.
Uganda is now assured of a slot in the semi finals, after revision in fixtures following some countries being guilty of fielding over-aged players.
Thursday is a resting day before the tournament returns on Friday.
