Hossam El Badry has resigned his duties as Al Ahly Sporting Club head coach.
The sad development arose less than two hours after their 2-0 loss on the road at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) football club in a group Champions league group A match played at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
The club website confirmed the development;
We accept the resignation of head coach Hossam El Badry. The club executive will convene on Wednesday to discuss a way forward.
Midfielder Ibrahim Sadam Juma and defender Timothy Denis Awany (penalty) scored for the Ugandan side in the 73rd and 88th minutes respectively.
In the aftermath of their 2-0 loss, Al Ahly remains with just a point from two matches.
Al Ahly played to a goal-less draw at home with Tunisian side Esperance.
A few weeks ago, Al Ahly lost 1-0 to Isaac Muleme’s Alassiouty Sport in the Egypt cup quarter finals.
