CAF U-20 Qualifiers (2nd Round, 2nd Leg)
- Friday, 18th May 2018:
- Cameroon Vs Uganda – Yaounde
The Uganda U-20 national team (Hippos) has been boosted by the timely arrival of three important players.
Team captain Julius Poloto, left back Mustafa Kizza and the magical left footed gem Allan Okello joined the rest of the players in the team camp at the Africa Bible University (ABU) in Lubowa.
The three players were part of the KCCA Football Club team that defeated African giants Al Ahly 3-0 during a Group A CAF Champions League match.
Hippos head coach Mathias Lule is delighted about the arrival of the three players;
We are excited by the options available. These three KCCA players are very important players to the team and their experience of playing in the CAF Champions League will be key to the team as we travel away.
Kizza was suspended for the previous two matches (against South Sudan and Cameroon) after a red card during the opening round match with South Sudan at Lugogo.
He returns to offer competition at the left back slot where Robert Kitabalwa ably deputized him with KCCA academy player Herbert Achai the other alternative.
On Tuesday morning, the team trained at the Kisubi University playgrounds before they travelled as a team to watch the CAF Champions League match at Namboole stadium later in the evening.
They are expected to conduct the final session on Wednesday morning (still at Kisubi University).
The team departs the country on Thursday morning for Cameroon ahead of the return leg on Friday in Yaounde.
