Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia have confirmed the signing of Uganda Cranes left back Shafik Batambuze.
The defender penned a two year deal with K’Ogalo on return to the KPL after a stint in Tanzania with Singida United.
“Shafik Batambuze has today penned a two year contract with the reigning champions Gor Mahia FC in readiness for the forthcoming CAF CL and the 2019 Kenya Premier League,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
The former Tusker FC player is regarded as a replacement for Godfrey Walusimbi who joined Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa.
“The Ugandan full left back and former Singida United of Tanzania’s player will fill the gap left by Godfrey Walusimbi.
Gor Mahia has used a number of Ugandans in the past including Daniel Sserunkuma, Israel Emuge, Khalid Aucho, Wazza and Ivan Anguyo among others.
