Hundreds expected to grace the inaugural Entebbe Parents S.S Marathon

Hundreds of runners are expected to take part in the first ever Entebbe Parents Secondary School Marathon on 2nd December 2018

Start & Finish: Works Play-ground, Entebbe (7 AM)

Categories: 5 KM & 10 KM

Entry Fees: 10,000/=

Hundreds of runners are expected to take part in the first ever Entebbe Parents Secondary School Marathon.

This marathon will cover the Lunyo and Katabi sub-wards of Division A on Sunday, 2nd December 2018 within Entebbe Municipality.

According to the head of sports department at the school, Jonathan “Councillor” Wamala, the proceeds from this marathon are intended to help in the completion of the school main Library and computer laboratory.


We are targeting as many former old students and well wishers to participate in the Entebbe Parents S.S marathon that will have the proceeds channeled towards the completion of the school library and the science computer laboratory. Ticket fees go for 10,000/= acquired at the school and at Paul Kafeero Complex in Kitoro. There will be two catergories – 5 KM and 10 KM to compete in.

The chief guest will be the Busiro East Member of Paliament Hon. Medard Lubega Ssegona “Akalya Amagwa”, who is also an old student at the school.

Some of the outspoken participants expected include His worship Mayor Entebbe Vincent De Paul Kayanja,Councilors Innocent Ssewankambo (Katabi Ward), Andrew Kaggwa Wani,  Richard Ssemazzi, Peter Ssebuufu, Annet Naluguza, Jonathan Wamala,Arafat Ssekawooya, Richard Wamala, Chairperson Division A Mutebi,  Division B chairman Stanley “Kapere” Namayiriria, Michael Kakembo, Entebbe Mayors’ political assistant Martin Matovu among others.

Routes:

For the 10 KM race, the participants will start from the Entebbe Works play-ground through to Entebbe town – Entebbe police, branch to Magala market, head to Nakiwogo, Lugonjo,  Kitooro, Miracle centre via Basudde rise backto Magala then back to the Works playground.

The 5 KM runners start at Works Playground via National Medical Stores through the Magala before they branch off from the Kamwanyi Boda stage climb the Basudde Rise to the State House Rare gate and head towards Magala then back to the starting point.

This marathon is expected to be a success given the earlier success scripts for the runs organized in Entebbe as Entebbe Marathon, Katabi ward run and the annual Entebbe Director’s race.
