Patrick “District” Kanyomozi is the new president of the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA).
The KFM radio and Kwesi free sports Television presenter be at two other contestants to the top seat following the sports journalists’ body elections held at the National Council of Sports building Copper Chimney hall on Saturday.
Kanyomozi who has been general secretary of the association since 2016 tallied 64 votes to amass the lion’s share of the total 116 votes cast.

Ritah Aliguma, the only lady in the race returned 36 votes to Sam Mpoza’s 16.
The entire election exercise was overseen by the Uganda Premier League Chief Executive Officer Bernard Bainamani.
Bainamani as the returning officer was assisted by Julius Gregory Kikomeko and Yusuf Mahad Kivumbi.
Kanyomozi replaces Sabiiti Muwanga who has been USPA president since 2014.
The other contested position was that of the treasurer.
Mubarak Kasule tallied 95 votes to Agnes Katende’s 22.
Francisco Bwambale and Johnson Were returned unopposed forthe organizing secretary and general secretary positions respectively.
USPA was started in 1971.
