Rally cars in a convoy to All saints cathedral 

Several rally drivers and members of the rally fraternity on Friday attended the funeral of  former rally driver Charles Muhangi. 

The funeral was held at All Saints Cathedral Nakasero, Kampala.

Muhangi was found dead on Thursday morning in his home in Munyonyo. 

Rally drivers showed their last respect as they drove their rally cars in a convoy to commemorate Muhangi’s  passion for the sport. 

The drivers further contributed eight million shillings(8M) towards the burial arrangements of the fallen legend.

Among the drivers included, fellow rally legend Moses Lumala, newly crowned champion Susam Muwonge, Ronald Sebuguzi, Janas Kansiime, Edwin Kalule among others. 

Charles Muhangi started his rally career in the 1990s. 

He won the national rally title in 1998. He would later clinch the coveted African rally championship (ARC) title in the following year.

He remains the only black African to have won the ARC title. 

He last participated in the rally event in 2012.
