The Cricket Cranes trio went straight to work in Singapore with Roger Mukasa and Charles Waiswa featuring for SG Crescents as they battled Kenneth Waiswa’s SG Crimsons.
The 50-over game played on a day night was the first game for the trio since they touched down in Singapore on Sunday afternoon.
Left-arm seamer Charles Waiswa opened the bowling for the Crescents sending down six overs and picking up 2 wickets for a paltry 22 runs. His teammate and Cricket Cranes captain Roger Mukasa made a handy contribution with the ball picking up for four wickets for 45 runs bowling a full quota of 10 overs.
The Crescents managed to restrict the Crimsons to only 177 runs all out, and the Cricket Cranes duo managed to pick six of the 10 wickets for the Crescents.
In the chase, Roger Mukasa fell early on for zero but his partner Charles Waiswa was able to score a patient 53-ball 24 that was helped the crescents win by 1 wicket.
Youngster Kenneth Waiswa bowling for the Crimsons was able to pick up 2 wickets for just 20 runs.
The trio is in Singapore for the 2019 edition of the Elite Players Series, an opportunity that should open more opportunities for other Ugandan players
There is no rest for Roger Mukasa and Charles Waiswa as the SG Crescents will be taking on the SG Stars in a 50-over Day/Night fixture tomorrow.
