Timothy Gawaya is highly optimistic that 2019 season is for reaping victory.
Gawaya heads to Mbarara for the season opener. Last year’s event was the first time he had completed a race in three years. And that opened him to more rally finishes in the same season.
“2018 was truly a great season for me. I came closer to the title, but due to some misfortunes, I fell out of the contention.
“But this season, I am working towards nothing else but the 2WD title. All our preparations will focus on the title,” said Gawaya.
Gawaya finished third overall in the 2WD category last year.
For him to win the 2019 title, he must edge his class rivals like Godfrey Nsereko, Sadat Negomba, Charles Ssansa among others.
“I have done enough training last year both locally and in South Africa. This is a big bonus for me this season.
“I will focus my event targets on only podium positions, and that will be able to place me well in the title fight,” he added.
