Deo Mutabazi, Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA Chairman)
Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) organized this course to catch up with the global technical changes since the last one we held was in 2015. It is this same course we shall use to grade and license coaches after they have sat for exams at the end. We have started our preparations for AFCON Beach Soccer 2020 and we thought of the coaches who will handle the national team players we are intending to use for the tournament because our intention is to win the trophy.
CAF beach soccer instructor, who is also the FUFA football development officer Ali Mwebe is the main course instructor.
Mwebe is working alongside the FUFA Youth development officer, Bashir Mutyaba.
Uganda Sand Cranes head coach Salim Muwonge and his assistant Peter Seguya are part of the 26 coaches undertaking the course.
Former Kirinya-Jinja S.S and Soana (now Tooro United) head coach, also the head tactician for MUBS beach soccer team, Charles Ayiekoh Lukula is also among.
Current players as Moses Lukyamuzi (Isabet), Geofrey Akabwai (KIU), Jessy Lukoki (KIU) among others are also part.
There is only one lady, Prossy Nabukeera as well as two sports journalists Jamil Ssemwogerere Mukiibi (Top TV) and Reagan Kyanda (FUFA F.M).
On Sunday, the coaches were given an off day to take a critical look at the different match situations as the second round of the national league got underway at Lido Beach.
The course will therefore resume on Monday at Lungujja before the practical sessions at Lido on Tuesday and Wednesday.
