Godfrey Nsereko registered his first victory as a two wheel drive championship competitor at last weekend’s season opening event in Mbarara.
Despite finishing in
Nsereko eventually took lead following Gawaya’s retirement from the event.
“It was quite challenging as well as a good start of the 2019 campaign for us. After a bad day one, characterised by clutch problems and broken shock absorbers. We managed to fight till first position,” said Nsereko.
Nsereko is now looking forward to more victories in the upcoming events.
“I won the same rally last year under the CRC. But this a tougher challenge to maintain with new competition.
“We plan to thoroughly prepare our car, be in shape to compete well for more victories to come,” he asserted.
Nsereko and co-driver JohnBosco Musisi now take early lead in the 2WD championship with 20 points
Samuel Watendwa finished second followed by Charles Ssansa in third to seal the 2WD podium positions.
