Avengers defeated Ceylons Lions in the first semifinal which was between the table toppers that gave them direct qualification in the final but also gave Ceylon Lions a second shot at the final via the eliminator against the winner of the runners up in the groups.
Aziz Damani Development defeated Wanderers in the first eliminator game to earn themselves a shot at the final via the 2nd eliminator but they will have to go through a wounded Ceylon Lions.
Ceylon Lions looked good throughout the group games but a drop in concentration culminated in their loss to Avengers in the semifinal.
Captain Ruwan Jayartne will be looking at Kenyan International Alex Obanda to deliver the goods for him as well as the U19 duo of Juma Miyagi and Simon Oketcho who missed the loss to Avengers when they were away for the qualifiers in Namibia.
Aziz Damani will also have their coach Jackson Ogwang in their dug out together with Munir Ismail and Edwin Nuwagaba who missed the win against Wanderers due to the qualifiers in Namibia.
A close encounter between the two sides but the experience in the Ceylon Lions side makes them favorites. Jonathan Ssebanja, Ruwan Jayartne and Alex Obanda will need to stand up for their side when the going gets tough.
The winner will meet Avengers in the final that will be played in the afternoon. Avengers not destructive but efficient in their play will be seeking to win their maiden local title and the final will definitely serve some fireworks.
