Uganda Premier League (Match Day 27):

Kirinya-Jinja S.S Vs Paidha Black Angels – Mighty Arena, Jinja S.S (4:30 PM)

SC Villa Vs Ndejje University – Mandela National Stadium, Namboole (4:00 PM)

It is pride at stake as Kirinya-Jinja S.S entertains Paidha Black Angels at the Mighty Arena in Jinja on Tuesday, 16th April 2019.

Fresh from the heart breaking 1-0 loss away to rivals BUL in the Jinja derby, Kirinya-Jinja S.S returns to the fold with a home duel against already relegated Paidha Black Angels.

Kirinya-Jinja S.S anticipates to return strong from the loss to fierce rivals BUL when they play before their home fans.

Their lead striker Joel Madondo who limped out in the derby is a big doubt, lest he passes a late fitness test.

Diligent midfielder David Bagoole will be missed as well having also skipped the derby because of an earlier knock.

Faisal Muwawu, Fred Amaku and Dan ‘Papa’ Sewava are all available and firing on all cylinders.

The home team head coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko is spoilt for choice in central midfield with a number of options at his disposal.

Jeromy Kirya, Nelson Mandela, Godfrey Akol, Anthony Mayanja and Vincent Zziwa are all match fit and will give the technical team a healthy selection puzzle.

At the back, Douglas Muganga and Isaac Isinde have been strong and forged a worthy enviable partnership in the season.

Teenage goalkeeper Sanon Mulabi is expected to maintain his slot in between the goal posts.

Enter Paidha Black Angels. The Blacks are merely playing for pride.

With 12 points from 26 matches, Paidha Black Angels was relegated officially following the 2-0 home loss to KCCA last week.

Their interim head coach Anthony Ssekitto traveled with a depleted squad to Jinja, and it will take God’s mercy to survive a massacre.

However, in Dickens Okwir, Yusuf Ssozi, Ceaser Olega and Jackson Nsubuga, Paidha Black Angels has four potent players who can cause havoc to any team on a given bright day.

Some of their licenced players who did not make the Jinja trip are goalkeeper John Kalumba and Petit Wanok who were allegedly suspended for celebrating the opponent’s goal against Paidha.

Paidha Black Angels will also miss key pin defender Pascal Iraso who completes his two match suspension after a red card against Express during the 1-0 loss on the road at Mutesa II Wankulukuku Stadium.

Kirinya-Jinja S.S is 9th with 36 points from 26 matches, and eye maximum points if they are to improve their position with the final bend of the season fast approaching.

In the other game on the day, Sports Club Villa plays host to league debutants Ndejje University at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole in duel that will be a decider of sorts in the fight against relegation.
