‘Bobo’ makes a strong return as MX title chases hot up

Ali Omar ‘Bobo’ Yasser was impressive on his return from injury making the highlights at the fourth round of the Motocross championship last Sunday at Garuga. 

‘Bobo’ who was featuring for the first time this season put up quite a show  

Bobo claimed a heat win in the combined MX125 and MX1 class despite Maxime Van Pee (MX1) and Fortune Sentamu  (MX125) winning the classes.

Bobo settled  for second position behind Sentamu in the MX125. 

“I am impressed with Bobo’s return. I did not expect the challenge he up throughout the event. I really credit him and other riders to the fight they put up against me,” said MX1 champion Maxime Van Pee. 

Elsewhere, Liam Ntale edged Ashiraf Mbabazi to register his first junior class victory this season.  Mbabazi still maintains his class lead on the championship with 40points. 

William Blick Jr continued to widen his points gap from his rival Miguel Katende with another victory over the weekend.

Blick maintains his lead with 39 points ahead of Katende who finished third.  Pascal Kasozi was second in the class. 

Gift Sebuguzi won the MX65 class to go top of the standings. Kreidah Nsubuga finished second followed by Isabella Blick. 

MX85 had Waleed Omar and Kylan Wekesa go neck and neck in the three heats. However, it was Omar at the top after winning two heats while Wekesa topped one settling for second. Malcolm Lubega finished third.

Ismail Mukiibi consolidated his MX2 title chase with another victory on Sunday. Rodrigo Franco finishes second followed by Micheal Ntailo. 

The fifth round of MX is scheduled for 7th July.
