Uganda Cranes hold Angola in precious away result

Emmanuel Okwi was the hero as Uganda Cranes came from behind to get a precious away point away in Luanda in the 2014 World Cup Qualifier. The Cranes had succumbed to an early 7th minute goal courtesy of Angola forward Campos Braume Manuel Abel Djalma. Mike Serumaga and Martin Mutumba got opportunities to equalise in the second half but couldnt make their chances count.

Martin Mutumba was very proved his worth with a number of forward raids that opened the Angola defense though opportunities were not utilised. With half an hour to go, it looked all gone as Angola dominated possession and Uganda Cranes were kept in thier half. It got worse when midfield gem was stretchered off after an injury. With five minutes to go Bobby Williamsons troops seemed to have run out of ideas.

The glory moment for the visitors came in the 88th  minute as Emmanuel Okwi scored a very precious away goal that not only helped the Cranes avoid defeat but also ensured the the come back with a point from Luanda. Uganda now lies second in group J of the 2014 World Cup Qualifer. Senegal lead the group after beating Liberia 3-1 yesterday.
