“We have received 100 golfers for the main event while 60 have so far registered for the subsidiary and between 40 and 45 professionals are expected from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda,” Kiwanuka said at the launch at the Uganda Golf Club. “We thank Uganda Breweries for sponsoring this event for a third year running. We also thank them for promoting sports in the country particularly golf and we have no doubt that the new found partnership will go along way in promoting golf in Uganda to international standards.”
This year the professionals will be battling for 30 million that up from last year’s 26 million a total of 25 professionals will share the kitty which is the higest ever played for by the professionals last year’s winner was Dismas Indiza, from Mumias Golf Club.
