2011 and 2012 Kampala Open Pool Championship winner, Sula Matovu will be seeking for a record 3rd title in a row as the 2013 Edition cues off at Capital Pub,  a Kampala City Suburb pub in Kabalagala.

To achieve the historic feat, Sula Matovu (of club Skin Samona), one player with awesome composed nerves on the pool table and varying shots on the ball into the pockets, will face stiff competition from the recently crowned Nile Special Pool Open Champion, Jona “Joker” Turigye.

Other players to  watch out for are Seed one Alfred Gumisiriza, Amos Ndyagumanawe, Yves Kaneza, 2013 Easter Champion, Fahad Ssewankambo, (was 3rd in this year’s national championships), Oscar Ocackon, Art Man Kabuubi, Simon Lubulwa, Ali Kizito, Richard Onen, Dan Mubiru, Adam Ssebi, Emma Occiti, Wasswa Kayiiya and quite a number of experienced and up coming players who may prove to be surprise packages.

 The ladies affair will be another tight rope to walk as the reigning Pool Queen, Carol Kanzira, Easter Pool Lady Champion,Vivian Musitwa Kagoya, Hadijah Nakiredde, Joan Nakayiza , Sharon Mirembe, Florence Ramona, Babra Nebbira, Nansubuga Phiona, Brenda Tendo 3-2 Rehema Nanyondo among others have all been playing great pool of late.

Registration of players (10,000/= each) started on the 10th September (at Capital Pub and PAU, Sunset Arcade) and is expected to go on until the 19th when the draws will be held at Club Lumas in Kampala.

Action kicks off at 9 a.m with the best of 3 games in the preliminary rounds.

Pool Association of Uganda has exclusively organized the event with assistance from Capital Pub management.

Winner: 500,000/=

1st Runners -up: 250,000/=

2nd Runners -up: 150,000/=
