Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) and Aga Khan Hospital have signed a 3 year renewable  medical agreement. The agreement will help Uganda’s athletes, both amateurs and the professional access quality medical help at a relatively cheaper cost at the Aga Khan Hospital and Clinic situated right in the heart of Kampala City at Diamond Trust Building.

“This is  a memorable day for Aga Khan to decide and help the health of our athletes, many of whom have been left neglected. Therefore, we hope to cement this cordial relationship for ages”, William Blick, the president of Uganda Olympic Committee remarked at a brief ceremonial signing event held at the Clinic on Friday.

Dr Rosalind Parkes Ratanshi commended UOC for entrusting Aga Khan with the mantle. “When UOC approached us, we never set back, because this is one way of paying back to the Hospitable Ugandan Community and Sportsmen in particular”, she said.

Present at the brief event were Sports Development Expert, Gunter Lange from Germany, Doctors, Almas Samji, Lucy Nakibuka Shantel, Julius Ssemakula, Robert Zavuga and Akampa Mutuwe.

“We shall be glad to receive all sportsmen with all ailments at Aga Khan Hospital. They have to cooperate with their respective local federations which will give them medical insurance cards that will be presented at the Hospital”, Martha Osire the center Manager asserted.

The Hospital offers services as Laboratory tests ( on time with a high degree of confidentiality), consultations, pharmacy, diagnostic imaging (both X ray and Ultra Sound ) among others.

The Aga Khan Hospital is open Monday to Friday for 12 hours each day from 8:30 a.m daily. On Saturdays , the hospital operates from 9 to 4 pm while it is often closed on Sundays and all official public Holidays.
