Jinja based professional golfer, Fred Wanzala carded 6 Over Par with a gross score of 148 (after 36 holes), two strokes better than 2013 Uganda Open Professional category winner to win the JBG money group at the East Africa’s oldest Golf Course in Entebbe.

“It is up to believe and diligence. Otherwise, if I had relaxed, I would have continued to be under the shadow of most players”, Wanzala won scored a par course score on Friday before registering 6 over Par the following day spoke to Kawowo Sports.

Ever since winning the Uganda Golf Open, Byamukama a.k.a Aarali went on a winning rampage as he easily won the Chairman’s Putter and Uganda Ladies Open professional tournaments, and he was highly favored by pundits and fellow players for a clean sweep prior the 2013 JBG tee-off.

Only 4 Professionals; Herman Mutawe, Gerald Ayella, Brian Mwesigwa and Kenyan Dismas Ndiza failed to make the cut into the Ug.shs 10 Million bracket that will be shared by those who made the cut. Ayella and Ndiza had scores (75 gross) for day two only.

The 16th Edition of the JBG Golf tourney, which is played on a stable ford (full handicap) format, will conclude on Sunday with a prize giving ceremony for the top  performers.

Day one of the close to 150 amateurs (on Saturday) witnessed lots of surprises as a look at the score board at the close of business reflected the opposite of the premeditated outlook as many top guns were playing catch up.

Last year’s tourney was won by Willy Deus Kitata (Amateurs with76 points) while Deo Akope, who is currently in Dubai won the Professional category with a total gross of 141.

The JGB Tournament is sponsored  Gauff Engineers running under the theme “Driving engineering innovations to the longest Hole”.
