2014 FIVB World Championship Qualifier:
Game Two:
Final Score: Uganda 3-0 Tanzania
The Host Nation, Uganda Volleyball Cranes have staged an amazing one hour and 30 minutes of thrilling volleyball action at the MTN Lugogo Arena to win the opening game over neighbors, Tanzania of the group Q African Women Zone 5 qualifier for the FIVB World Champions.
“It’s a great start for us though I am not personally impressed by the overall performance of the team”, Uganda team skipper, Prossy Alobo remarked shortly after the game.
Winning the first set 25-20, the hosts continued to hold grip of the consolidated start with an amazing fight coming into the second set which they won by an identical scoreline like the first. The Tanzanian ladies led by Remmy Yasinta and Salome John Mapunda made a gallant fight back and almost took set 3.
At one stage they led 24-19 but the determined Ugandans through Astreede Agaba sent the game into a duce following blocker Saidat Nnuugi’s successive serves, and the hosts won 30-28 sending the relatively small volleyball faithful into ecstasy.
