Every budding athlete in the world harbors big life time dreams. Many of these dreams are centered on the common denominator, success and a bright future ahead.

When Francis Olaki scored on his national team debut during Uganda’s 3 -0 home win against Mauritania, he revealed it was a dream long overdue.

“Thanks to the Almighty, I have fulfilled the dream of scoring on my Uganda Cranes first appearance. I will continue to work hard to bring in consistent results for my club and country”, the Soana football club player says.

Olaki, the last born in the of the 5 sporting siblings born to Mr Michael Opolot and Mrs Grace Ajiyo  attributes his love for the game of football to his older brother, Emmanuel Okwi (now with Tanzanian giants, Yanga Africans).

“Okwi has been my role model since childhood and I will play with a dream to be a football professional one day”, a rather reserved Olaki adds.

The former Jogoo Young pacy and tricky striker was a second half substitute as a CHAN bound Cranes witted Mauritania in an international friendly game played at Namboole Stadium (on 2nd January).

Olaki won the Buganda Masaza Cup with Buluri County  (in 2011)and was runners up  in Buwekuula County (in 2012) to eventual winners, Bulemeezi. The Masaza Football tournament is a locally organised event within the 17 counties of Buganda Kingdom .

The Masaza tournament has produced three quarters of the football stars in the respective clubs within Uganda and beyond.
