UVF Presidents’ Cup 2014

As the respective regional teams think of the playing stuff, logistical support and training schedules ahead of the 2014 Uganda Volleyball Federation Federation (UVF) Presidents’ cup, the central region has started the long trek to have their house sorted.
On Monday, the co-ordinator of Central region, Mary Florence Nannyondo named a strong team of 22 men and 20 women to start training for the championships, the first on the UVF calendar year of 2014.
” I have announced the names early enough to help necessitate the training sessions and i would like to notify the named players to take note to prepare for the UVF Presidents Cup”, she said.
Ironically, the co-ordinator named herself among the the lady setters in the women’s team alongside, Kuluthum Nakamanya, Aminah Naluyima, Winnie Nakabuubi, Gloria Nantege and UCU’c Maggie Nambasa.
The men’s team has the likes of Albert Gayi (setter), Johnson Kawenyera (Ndejje University ladies’ coach), Hannington Nsubuga, Adam Ssematiko and Prince David Kyabaggu among others.
The regions have been extended to 10 this year round. The teams together with their co-ordinators are; Central teams – Ms. Mary Florence Nannyondo, Western City based teams – Mr. Muhangi Warren, Far East City based teams – Mr. Solomon Malinga, Near East City based teams – Mr. Wakabi Dennis, Northern City based teams – Mr. Komakech Innocent, Western Up country teams – Mr. Byamazima Innocent and Alex Tam Mbaine, West Nile Up country team (Men only) – Mr. Albert Pithuwa, Near East Up country – Mr. Tonny Muyagu Kim M Tonny), Far East Up country – Mr. Patrick Okore c/o Moses Santa Perez Okello and Northern Up country (Men only) – Mr. Otara Stephen White.
