Frank Ngabo, was in outstanding form as he claimed the MTN Monthly Mug for January at the par 72 Kitante golf course on Saturday as the golfing season swung into action at the Uganda Golf Club.
Ngabo, with a gross score of 70 was the overall winner of the opening round of the season monthly Mug that is held at the end of every month at the Uganda Golf Club.
“I am glad with this win and I hope to return with lower scores for every mug and most of the tournaments in the country,” Frank Ngabo, said after claiming the overall crown at the club house. “I have been practising alot and I want to keep that way so I hope the trend of winning continues through out the year.”
Dr Sam Zaramba, was winner group A with 69 nett while Eddie Mwangusya with 68 nett was winner group B in the one day tournament that attracted 150 golfers from around Kampala.
On an annual basis MTN Uganda supports 10 monthly mug, one Mid-Year Mug and a final Mug of Mugs held in December.
Badru Bashir Ansasira was group C winner returning with a score of 71 nett on count back. Kathy Kabenge, continued with her rich vein of form by claiming the Ladies Group A crown with 71 nett on count back.
Group B was won by Candy Mpanga with a score of 70 nett.
