Lady golfers from around the country and foreign entrants will be glowing at the fourth edition of the Castle Lite Entebbe Ladies Open that will be held from March 7-8 at the par 71 Entebbe Club as the tournament has received a major sponsorship boost ahead of the action.

The organisers of the event Entebbe Club have received two other corporate sponsors together with the Main one Nile Breweries under their premium brand Castle Lite.

Castle-lite will be spending 18 million shillings on the event and are joined by Spedag- Inter freight who have sponsored the event since inception with another 3.5 million shillings.

The new kid on the bloc is Swivel Marketing who are injecting another 5 million shillings into the event.  Oscar Mulira of Swivel Marketing stated that Swivel Marketing was proud to be associated with a growing game being played at the fastest growing golf club in the country and looked forward to more associations like this with Entebbe Club.

Prizes for longest drive and nearest to the pin have also been secured from HTC Hub and Orange.

According to Entebbe Club, the organisers of  the organisers the tournament is expected to attract over 60 players from all over the country and is aimed to promote ladies golf.

The Entebbe Ladies Open is expected to attract players from Rwanda and Tanzania and the previous winners have been Jasper Kamukama (UGC), Flavia Namakula (UGC) and Iddi Madina( Gymkhana Arusha). No Entebbe based lady player has managed to win this tournament as yet.

There will be a subsidiary event for men where men are expected to tee off the ladies tees and further expected to return better scores than the ladies. The ladies event will be a two day event while the men’s event will be a one day event on the final day.
